Thank you for helping me reach my Walk to Defeat ALS(TM) fundraising goal! Fifteen thousand dollars is ambitious, but I am confident that we can achieve this together; we can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by Lou Gehrig's Disease and spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.

As most of you know, my sister Resi died of ALS almost eighteen years ago at the age of 45. She has missed so much since her death: Jonathan (Harvard), Patrick (WFU), and Katherine's (WFU) college graduations; Jon's professional success; Patrick and Lindsey's and Jonathan and Emily's weddings. We will celebrate as Katherine and Will take their vows this June. Yes, Resi has missed so much. And we miss Resi so much. Every day.

This is my nineteenth Walk to Defeat ALS, but like last year, this virtual walk will be different in many ways. Five years ago on Feb 17th I suffered a Triple A, an abdominal aortic aneurysm. I am blessed to be alive and grateful to be WALKING again, albeit with a walker. So I am asking for your support of my team, Resi's Pieces, as I make my trek in Belmont, not around Symphony Park in Charlotte. Like so many things, this year's walk will be different. Please help me make it our team's most successful effort in spite of those differences. Together we can do it.

With your help, we will be able to offer tangible support for people affected by this disease, compromised people who are at particular risk from Covid 19. Please donate! The amount is not important. Your support is what counts.

PS - My team's name is Resi's Pieces because Resi loved candy! Only Resi - kitchen canisters labelled flour, sugar, etc were filled with M&Ms, Reeses Pieces, etc. That is the truth!
